As an electrical engineer I am always attracted towards wireless things and I think most of you are also.
Recently I bought a 2.0 speaker set (http://www.flipkart.com/lenovo-speaker-m0520/p/itmd38rwwzkeeuhj?pid=ACCDFYFDHNN76GMN ) for my laptop. When i move my laptop from one place to another, i cant move the speakers to everywhere with laptop, so i decided to convert them to wireless ones.
Here i am posting the method by which i did this.
There are various ways to do this, using various Bluetooth and wi fi kits, but the cheapest way to do this that i think is by using my mobile. So you should have an Android mobile for this, this is the only pre-requisite.
1. First install an app named SOUNDWIRE on your android device.
2. Than install SOUNDWIRE server on you windows computer http://soundwire-server.en.uptodown.com/
3. After this start the server on computer, there it shows the server address (ip address), write the same in your mobile soundwire application, and tap on the screen (a way to connect it).
4. Remember one thing, during all this your mobile and your computer should be on same wi fi network. For this i used software named Connectify to make my computer as hotspot and than connect my mobile to it, but there are other ways also.
5. After this you will start to listen the music that is playing on your computer at the output of your mobile speakers, than connect your mobile to the speakers through 3.5mm jack.
6. If your speakers are usb powered (as mine are) than you will face the problem of powering them, for that i use the combination of usb adaptor and usb male to female cable. I got them from a nearest electrical store in around 50 Rs.

awesome man ... good job
ReplyDeleteNice, innovative and cheaper solution bro. Good going.
ReplyDeleteHowever, phone batteries die soon when keeping their wi-fi ON and one has to keep charging them. So, now 3 power plugs are in use, one fpr each laptop, phone and speakers. You cannot use the USB slots of laptop for charging, as it will take you back to the original problem. Hence in making the the speakers wireless, you've made a tradeoff by making the phone more and more immobile (wired). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Nevertheless, the procedure does its job as promised in the title and these constraints can be sidelined coz wireless comes at some cost. Congrats for your first successful blog post.
